In a short time, this blog had developed a respectable following, and the Facebook page is closing in on 600 “likes”…And I can’t help but thank every one of you, from England, to Australia to right here in San Francisco and everywhere else. I hope to keep finding ways to keep you interested and coming back. As Adam Carolla says, “Help keep the Pirate Ship afloat” and share this with your friends, and enemies if you want, too, both here at the blog, and on the Why Daddy Drinks Facebook page.

This Sunday is Father’s Day, and in the spirit of that…Today’s quote comes from one of the Fathers of Our Country, the one and only Ben Franklin. Ben was many things, and among those was a true aficionado of good beer. And since I will be spending Father’s Day out in the sun, drinking a few $9 beers and watching my Beloved Seattle Mariners try to do battle with the first-place Oakland A’s, I figured it was right that one of the Founding Fathers have something appropriate to say about beer:

“Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.”
